My son had just turned 15 and discovered Ultra Molds on Youtube when he was expanding his desired knowledge for making soft plastic fishing lures. Up until his Ultra Molds Shooting Star discovery he had gone through a couple of microwaves and a crockpot for processing the materials for single color injecting into molds. He was then doing this as a personal hobby. However, once he discovered the Ultra Molds Shooting Star system he became determined to start his own business making and selling lures on-line. I thought it would be a good father/son adventure and far more educational for him than mowing lawns or a lemonade stand. When I made an inquiry to Ultra Molds about purchasing a Shooting Star and describing our situation, I was very impressed with the amount of information and support I received. Kate, the office manager, was very knowledgeable and provided all the information and suggestions as to which unit and accessories would be best and that I needed to enable me to open the door to my son’s business goals as well as a great Christmas surprise for him. I was further very delighted with Ultra Molds support after I placed the order for the Shooting Star. They provided further informational calls and e-mails regarding our order long before the unit even arrived. I received a call from Kate just before Christmas assuring me that she was personally tracking the shipment as it progressed across the U.S. and the unit would definitely arrive in time for a Christmas morning surprise for my son. Further, I also received a call from Rupert who offered to personally answer any questions we had in the setup and first use of the Shooting Star on Christmas Day. I was very stunned that a person would make themselves available and offer their time on such a holiday. When we opened up the unit and began the minimally required assembly process, I was very captivated by the quality of the machining and the ruggedness of the unit’s design. I noticed an incredible level of precision detail and thoughtfulness in the design. Clearly, this was designed to be very efficient, modular, and easily serviceable. A very well-thought-out design. Fortunately for Rupert, we did not need to call him on Christmas day as the assembly went without any issues, and to my son’s (and my) delight we were able to run a few batches through the unit with no issues and very nice results. We were able to easily produce single color lures as well as successful multicolor laminates as we experimented with the differing ratio injectors we ordered with the Shooting Star. Shortly after Christmas, we got the opportunity to get some of the molds produced by Ultra Molds. When I compared them to other molds my son had from other producers, I saw a genuine upscale difference in their machining precision and detail. I can say that we will never buy molds from any other supplier. And, the fact that Ultra Molds can produce custom molds really has my son’s imagination going. The only drawback is now it is even harder to get him to do his homework as he is always out in the shop experimenting and building up his lure inventory. I am very grateful to all the people at Ultra Molds for making our Christmas very special and for their support in enabling me to enjoy watching my son have an educational hobby and to develop an on-line presents which I hope will teach him many aspects of business and marketing development. Again, thank you to everyone at Ultra Molds you are a great example of a real Made in USA business.

Definitely worth the money and waiting time for me! This thing makes injecting bait runs beyond simple… and much more fun! I make baits for myself and some of my fishing buddies… it has never failed me! The solid colors and laminates are amazing! I was a little intimidated about the assembly when I received the huge box… but the YouTube videos by Rupert made the task beyond simple. Do not hesitate to order if you are looking to step-up your current bait-making game! I promise you will not be disappointed.. and the customer service is TOP-NOTCH!
